I am not a photographer.

Whew.
I'm glad we've got that embarassing little piece of info out of the way.

I am, by education and profession, a graphic designer. Let me rephrase that - I am a print designer. I know just enough about web stuff to find my way out of a paper bag and straight to google. (Well... maybe a bit more than that, since I did manage to exercise some rusty html and css skills to create this site.)

My name is Lauren Engelhardt. I'm a mere 25 years of age. Blissfully married four years. Two dogs. No kids. Mortgage. Job. Et cetera.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, and currently residing St Louis, Missouri. It is the first time I've ever lived in a state other than Wisconsin.

I use a Canon PowerShot S410 Digital Elph. I wanted it because it's tiny and I like to pretend I'm an international spy sometimes.

My interest in photography would probably insult most 'real' photographers. I find that it's a quick and cheap (if digital) way to create something that captures my view of the world.

And that right there is the important part, folks.

I don't believe people are defined by facts and favorites. Your job is not your identity. Small talk doesn't help you understand who someone really is.

Through images, words, thought and understanding, empathy, compassion. This is how you know other people. onewaymirror is my way of sharing my walk in the world with the world.

You get to know me. Maybe I'll get to know you.
